Volunteer
Local and statewide Sierra Club offices have volunteer opportunities available immediately for those of you who want to make a difference on environmental issues. We are the oldest, grassroots conservation organization in the nation. Founded by John Muir in 1892, our mission is to explore, enjoy and protect the earth's wild places. If you are interested in volunteering, please email us at shahla.werner@sierraclub.org or call us at (608) 256-0565.
Our current volunteer needs include:
Tabling Volunteers: We are looking for friendly, reliable people with an interest in environmental issues to staff our Sierra Club table at upcoming events throughout Wisconsin. Tables, chairs, literature, and
training will be provided to all volunteers.
Volunteering with our supporting agency, Community Shares of WI (CSW): Each year we provide volunteers to help with mailings associated with CSW’s fall workplace giving campaign. Other opportunities are also available.
Writing thank-you notes to Sierra Club donors
Assisting with merchandise sales
Phone banking on important issues
Assisting with planning and fundraising (sponsorship and fundraising solicitations) for upcoming events.
Creating of Wisconsin / Sierra Club coloring books, temporary tattoo designs and other children’s materials ( for those with artistic talents)
Assisting with general office duties, including filing, phone correspondence, and database work.
If you are interested in volunteering, or have other special talents to offer, please email us at shahla.werner@sierraclub.org or call us at (608) 256-0565.
National Sierra Club staff created this site to give volunteers a broad look at what you can do with the Sierra Club. It provides great background on how the Sierra Club works and is recommended for all new volunteers! http://sierraclub.org/101/index.asp
