Sierra Student Coalition
The Sierra Student Coalition (SSC) is the student arm of the National Sierra Club. You can learn more about SSC online at www.ssc.org. The Sierra Student Coalition is a network of high school and college students from across the country working to protect the environment. The SSC is the youth-run (age 14-30) branch of the Sierra Club, the nation's oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization. Our mission is to develop leaders for the environmental movement by training, empowering, and organizing youth to run effective campaigns that result in tangible environmental victories.

Each summer the SSC offers week-long, in-person trainings.
Our issues in Wisconsin include:
* Promoting clean transportation, including defending transit programs against cuts, protecting your bus pass, and expanding service
* Ensuring a rapid transition from dirty coal (fueled by mountaintop removal mining) to sustainable alternatives at UW-Charter Street and other power plants
* Promoting energy efficiency, recycling, local, organic food, composting and renewable energy at campuses around Wisconsin.
